LAUNDRY TOXINS
According to the Environmental Working Group (EWG), fragrances are considered among the top five allergens and can trigger asthma attacks .
PHTHALATES
EWG tests also revealed that 75% of fragrances contain phthalates . Phthalates have been linked to diabetes, obesity, and hormonal disruption that affects both development and fertility .
PETROCHEMICALS
The detergent was created as a substitute for soap, formulated with petrochemicals (derived from synthetic crude oil) that have been linked to mucous membrane damage, lung damage and inflammation, asthma, and cancer.
( Sodium Hypochlorite ) It is involved in more household poisonings than any other chemical. Sodium hypochlorite reacts to generate chlorinated VOCs, which are highly toxic and considered human carcinogens. Chlorinated compounds are emitted during use; as it flows down the drain, it can produce organochlorines (OCs), which are endocrine disruptors, neurotoxins, and carcinogens. Chlorine is not only harmful to health, but also degrades synthetic and natural fibers, reducing the longevity of textiles.
Fabric softeners and dryer sheets are made of harmful chemicals combined with a strong dose of fragrance.
FRAGRANCE
In general, the fragrance in fabric softeners is particularly difficult to remove because it is designed to adhere to the fabric so that the characteristic scent remains on the clothes.
Quaternary ammonium compounds (QAC)
They are also found in any product labeled "antibacterial." They cause dermatitis and are suspected of causing respiratory disorders .
